As a special ed teacher, I think what you are doing for your children's teachers is WONDERFUL. It is so hard sometimes to get special ed things accross to classroom teachers. You are right, they should WANT to take the time to read info you are taking the time to provide. And you are so sensible about it. I wish more parents could be like you. Understanding, yet you get your point accross and get what you want for your children. I have worked in a setting before with severely Autistic pre-schoolers and one para who couldn't even tell me the definition of Autism, much less be effective. I wish I had known of this publications then. I just ran accross your blog through Autism Hub and I will be visiting again. Good luck to your children as they start school!!!!

I also think that this is a great suggestion. The Bear does not start the first year of Kindergarten until next year, but I was thinking about writing something up for the teacher and aide. I'll take a look at your links and see if I can use it instead. Thanks.

BTW, did you push the easy button for back to school? ;-)

Great suggestion. Down here, there is no such thing as a "trained" para, and we're usually happy if we just have someone willing to learn. A nice, short, and easy-to-read book sounds like just the ticket.

Great post! The title really bothers me, but the document taught me a lot. I am always looking to know more. I think all teachers should be given this kind of info, THANKS!
