According the statistics quoted by the RDI folks, seventy percent of communication is NON-VERBAL! Our children will be better off if we work on communication through not only words, but actions, reactions, facial expressions, body language, gestures, pointing, etc. The communication between my 18yo daughter and I has reached a new level of joy since we started being more well-rounded in how we approach communication!
